Heartbeat Procedure

If you received a SMS that the device missed a heartbeat please follow the procedures below. Please start with option 1 and if you do not receive a successful SMS message then move on to option 2. 

🔍 Before You Begin (NEW – Required Step)

Before troubleshooting, verify the device using Test Mode:

  1. Log in to your WSPER Device Portal

  2. Navigate to the Device → Device Test Mode tab

  3. Locate the device with the missed heartbeat

  4. Select the device using the checkbox

  5. Click “Activate Test Mode”

👉 Follow the on-screen instructions once Test Mode is activated

⚠️ Important Notes:

  • If the device flashes red at any point, take the device outside and retry the steps below while still in Test Mode

  • Test Mode will automatically revert to LIVE mode after 5 minutes

  • If an alarm is triggered, it may notify the monitoring center

    • Be prepared with your False Alarm PIN to cancel dispatch

## Network scan options

Option 1 (Fastest option)

  1. Click and Hold Panic button for 10 Seconds or until you see the green LED light flash
  2. Once the LED stops flashing you will see it turn solid green for 1-2 seconds
  3. if successful, you will receive the success SMS 
  4. If no SMS is received move to Option 2

Option 2 (Easiest option)

  1. Remove batteries, wait 10 seconds and insert new batteries.
  2. Once batteries are inserted you should see the led flashing orange, then flashing green, then solid green for 1-2 seconds
  3. If no SMS is received move to Option 3


Option 3 (Advanced option)

  1. Remove and install NEW batteries
  2. Click the reset button to preform the network scan.
  3. Once clicked you should see the led flashing orange, then flashing green, then solid green for 1-2 seconds
  4. If no SMS is received, open a support ticket asap by clicking the "Submit a Ticket" button below.



## Conclusion

If you do not receive the following SMS message after the LED stops blinking please open a support ticket asap. 

The network scan can take up to 5 minutes to connected to the LTE-M network.
